Monday Makes: A patchwork bag and the beginnings of a tea dress!

Hello! It's hard to believe this is my first post of 2014 - where have those months gone?! Monday(!) Makes: Handy fold-up shopping bag

I received this lovely book, The Perfect Handmade Bag by Clare Youngs as a present a couple of years ago and have never got round to trying any of the projects - until now. I spotted a great tutorial for a fold up shopping bag made from muslin, with a border made from a patterned teatowel.

Monday Makes: Bead It – a simple ribbon and bead necklace.

The weekend before last, I visited Melanie Bond, who was hosting a pop up stall of her stunning handmade jewellery at Mexx in Bow Street Mall's Tempest department store. Melanie recently led some exciting jewellery classes in The Bead Shop in Lisburn - sadly I missed these but plan to keep an eye on her… Continue reading Monday Makes: Bead It – a simple ribbon and bead necklace.

The fabric-covered noticeboard seems to be a popular project, with many variations on the theme available online - but I decided to create my own, simplified version.… Continue reading Monday Makes: Take notice – how to make a fabric noticeboard
